Moto G6 Plus Specs, Release Date, Features, News, Concept and Price
Motorola has unveiled Moto G5S Plus and G5S in August and already the buzz about the next Moto G smartphone has begun. The Moto G6 Plus will be the successor of G5S Plus and some latest rumours suggest that Motorola may go for an early launch of the next generation of Moto G.
Moto G6 Plus : Release Date and and Price
Previously Motorola used to add a new member to the Moto G series every 10 months. The series began with the original Moto G which was launched in November 2013. After Lenovo has aquired Motorola, things have changed the frequency of new phones increase. In 2017, Motorola unveiled four smartphones under Moto G brand. In February, Moto G5 Plus and G5 has arrived, then G5S Plus and G5 have landed in August.
So it appears that the next Moto G iteration will arrive in early 2018. Most likely, we will see the launch of Moto G6 Plus at MWC 2018 which starts from February 26 to 1st March.
Currently, the price of Moto G5S Plus starts in USA from $280. We are sure that the next Moto G device will be priced higher than G5S Plus. So the most probable price range of G6 Plus will be $300-350.
Moto G6 Plus : Design
Motorola has introduced Dual Camera design with G5S Plus smart phone. The side bezel size also reduced, so that screen to body ratio has increased. In the next Moto G device, the Lenovo owned company might make necessary changes to reduce side bezels and the thickness.
So most probably, Moto G6 Plus will become the slim device in the Moto G lineup. Due to the reduction bezels the screen size can be increased while keeping the body size same as G5S Plus.
Moto G6 Plus : Display
As the average screen size of smart phones keeps on increasing, we can expect that the next Moto G device will arrive with a bigger screen than its predecessor. Moto G5 Plus and G5S Plus devices sported 5.2 inch and 5.5 inch IPS-LCD screens respectively.
The successor of G5S Plus might come with a screen size of 5.7 or 5.8 inch, to knock off the competition. Motorola may employ FullHD resolution with multiple color modes in G6 Plus. So users can enjoy Crystal clear display due to rich pixel density and change color mode, according to needs.
Moto G6 Plus : Performance
Moto G5 Plus and G5S Plus devices are powered by Snapdragon 625 chipset which was very good chipset for mid-rangers. The successor of SD 625 is Snapdragon 630 which is an Octa core chipset clocked at 2.2 Ghz. Due to the significant improvements made in SD630 Mobile Platform, the chipset works much better performance than its predecessor.
So, Snapdragon 630 will provide ample processing power for the next Moto G smart phone. Because of the Adreno 508 GPU which is much powerful than the GPU in SD625, Moto G6 Plus will be able to run many Graphics intensive games without any lag or frame drop.
Moto G6 Plus : Camera
Motorola brought Moto G5S Plus with impressive Dual Camera setup on the rear side along with Dual LED flash. But, unfortunately, many users told that the quality of pictures shot by the Dual 13MP sensor camera is not as good as expected. Due to the second 13MP Camera lens, users are able to change the depth of focus and create Bokeh effect, but the quality has to be better. So Motorola should improve the quality of Camera in the upcoming Moto G smartphone.
Moto G6 Plus may also sport 13MP or 12MP Dual Camera sensors with Dual LED flash on the rear, according to latest reports. But the aperture size and pixel size should be improved to reduce noice and quality of pictures. If Motorola do other Camera software refinements, then Moto G6 Plus will definetely stand as a good Camera phone. The G6 Plus may also come with 2K video recording at 30fps support.
Battery and Quick Charge support
Motorola launched Moto G5S Plus mid-ranger with Non-Removable 3000 mAh Li-Ion battery which gives excellent backup. As the Moto G6 Plus might come with a bigger display than its predecessor, the smart phone needs a huge battery to keep power on for a long time. Perhaps, the next mid-ranger from Moto will be powered by 3300 mAh Non-removable Li-Ion battery.
Both Moto G5S Plus and G5 Plus supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology. Albeit Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset supports Quick Charge 4, Motorola has supplied Moto X4 with only QC 3.0 compatible charger. Despite that, Moto X4 users are able to charge 0% to 100% in just 90 minutes. According to some experts, Motorola may enable Quick Charge 4 tech in Moto G6 Plus and also supply with QC4.0 compatible charger.
So Moto G6 Plus will charge much faster than G5S Plus, inspite of bigger battery, due to QC 4.0. Thanks to the optimizations made in Quick Charge 4.0, the G6 Plus battery will remain cool while Quick Charging, so the battery life will be improved. More confirmed details about the Battery life and charge time of G6 Plus will be revealed in coming days.
Moto G6 Plus and G6 mid-rangers could come with pre-installed Android Oreo operating system. Android Oreo contains many optimizations to improve performance and battery backup. So Moto G6 Plus will perform better than its predecessor.
Android Oreo contains notable features like Picture in Picture mode, Notification Dots, Notification Channels, App background limits, revamped user interface and many more.
We will update this post soon with more details about Moto G6 Plus in coming days.
