LG G7 Features, Specs, Release Date and Price
LG G7 is the upcoming flagship from LG and the successor of G6. G7 is the 7th iteration in the most popular G series of LG. The South Korean tech giant launched the LG G6 flagship with many elegant and interesting features at MWC 2016 in February. LG G6 arrived with a new gorgeous design and premium look. The next flagship from LG will also come with the metal unibody design with Corning Gorilla glass on front and rear sides of the device. Now we will roundup some rumoured features and specs of G7.
Display and Screen
LG G6 features 5.7 inch display with 1440×2880 resolution Full vision IPS LCD Display. LG used the new 18:9 aspect ratio in G6 display. The South Korean tech giant reduced the bezel size in G6 flagship very much compared to its predecessors and named it as FullVision Display just like its competitor’s Infinity Display. LG is going to introduce the home made Smart Phone OLED display soon, according to some reliable reports. So the G7 flagship may feature the bezel less OLED Full Vision Display of 5.7-6.0 inch and feature 4K resolution.
LG G7 will also come with wide colour gamut support because of Android 8.1 and also useful for editing Pictures. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 will be used in G7 to protect the display better than its predecessor. Due to the large OLED screen, rich pixel density and deep black point, G7 possibly offer much better VR view than G6. The images, videos and 3D games will appear on LG G7 very sharper and crystal clear.

LG G6 is unveiled with 13MP dual camera setup at rear and 5MP front camera. So G7 also possibly sport the same 13MP dual Rear camera setup with improved lens and aperture and 8MP Front camera. Both front and rear cameras may support optical image stabilization, auto HDR, laser auto focus features.
Due to OIS feature, low light performance will be improved and noice be reduced. Due to improved Camera software, picture clarity will be improved and videos also be recorded with high quality. Rear camera of G7 can record videos at 4K and 2K resolution. Front camera may support 2K video recording.
Due to improved Camera aperture and lens, we can shoot wide angle pictures. The Auto HDR feature helps to shoot HDR enabled videos and pictures. With the manual exposure feature, users can manually control the exposure. With Burst mode users can automatically shoot pictures continuously and save them.
According to latest rumours, LG and Qualcomm are working together to power G7 by Snapdragon 845 chipset. Snapdragon 845 chipset is currently in the developmental stage. But a report from Gizbot suggested that the Chipset giant may unveil its next flagship chip in January 2018. So LG may launch G7 flagship powered by SD 845 chipset. Snapdragon 845 is an Octa Core chipset with Four A-75 and Four A-55 cores. Qualcomm is going to build Snapdragon 845 on 10nm FinFET LPP process.
A recent leak claims that Snapdragon 845 is coming with X20 LTE modem. According to the leak, X20 LTE modem supports 1.2 Gbps speeds and designed for 5G networks. More details about Snapdragon 845 will be revealed in coming days.
Next Gen Security
Snapdragon 845 SoC may feature refined Qualcomm Haven Security suite which works in combination of Hardware and Software security features. This next gen Security suite contains components like Secure Camera, Secure Token, Smart Protect and so on.
Due to Secure Camera feature, the security of online transaction improves in devices powered by Snapdragon 845. The Secure Camera feature uses Eye-based Biometric Authentication methods to make transaction more secure. Secure Token is a hardware based validition feature and provides improved authentication for payments, banking and encryption processes.

Previously LG G6 sported 4 GB Ram. LG may continue the same Ram in the successor of G6. LG will improve the Ram performance in the LG G7 to facilitate multi tasking like breeze. The flagship probably come in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB internal memory variants. G7 may support microSD cards to extend storage upto 512GB. 3.5mm headphone might also be present in G7 like its predecessor.
LG unveiled G6 with 3300 mAh Li-Ion battery which is non-removable. So the LG G7 may come with 3400 mAh Li-Ion battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support. In the US and some selected regions, LG G7 will come with Wireless charging support.
LG G7 Quick Charge
The new Snapdragon 835 SoC from Qualcomm is also coming with Quick charge 4.0 capability. As LG G7 is coming with Snapdragon 835 chipset, it also supports Quick Charge 4.0. According to Qualcomm’s announcement regarding Quick Charge 4.0, it charges 20% faster than Quick Charge 3.0. Quick charge 4 also 30% more efficient than Quick Charge 3. Quick charge 4 technology also constantly monitors battery temperature during charging. So the battery is charged at 5 degrees C cooler temperature. Its battery saver feature also ensures that Battery to remain at 80% capacity even after 500 cycles. So LG G7 will charge faster and cooler than its predecessor.
Latest flagship from LG is equipped with wireless charging support only in the US. In other countries, G6 is available without the Wireless charging feature. In the US variant of G6, LG used only slow wireless charging technology : Qi and PMA wireless charging.
So in the upcoming flagship, LG may use Qi Fast charging technology to charge wireless quickly. G7 with wireless charging might not be limited to the US and be available in other regions too. More details about wireless charging feature of G7 will be revealed soon.
The latest flagship, LG G6 comes with IP68 water resistance feature. The successor of G6 may also come with IP68 water resistance feature. So LG G7 can survive upto 30 mins. under 5 ft. water depth. Android 8.1 Oreo
LG G6 and Q6 devices arrived with pre-loaded Android 7.1 Nougat OS. LG usually loads the stock Android with LG UX skin and some useful apps in the G series devices. So the G7 flagship will run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and may receive further updates upto 2 years. Recently, some developers revealed that the Android 8.1 update is the next update after the Android 8.0 update and is coming soon. Android Oreo features many significant system and user interface improvements along with some new security features. The quick boot time, app launch times, Picture in Picture mode, new Notifications and wide color gamut are the some of the prime features of Android Oreo.
According to Qualcomm, Snapdragon 835 SoC features Bluetooth 5.0 technology, which is a major improvement over the previous Bluetooth 4.2. So LG G7 will feature Bluetooth 5 support. Bluetooth 5.0 offers four times range and double speed over its predecessor. Some testers claim that Bluetooth 5.0 can work up to 800 ft range. Bluetooth 5.0 is also built to support for IoT (Internet of Things). Bluetooth 5.0 is also designed to provide better Location services. Energy usage is also reduced in this Bluetooth version compared to its predecessor. The upcoming Android O operating system is coming with support for Bluetooth 5.0 devices.
Previously, LG launched the G5 flagship in February 2016 and the G6 flagship in February 2017. So it seems that the next flagship in G series might be unveiled in January or February 2018. A latest report from South Korea suggested the early launch of LG G7. So LG may reveal the official release date of G7 in coming days.
LG G7 might come with a price tag of $700 in the US. The price of G7 will vary, according to the carrier. In the UK, G7 may come with a price tag of £690. In other European countries G7 might be priced around €750.

Another leak through Phonearena suggests that Qualcomm is going to unveil the Snapdragon 845 chipset on 4th December. The event will take place at Snapdragon Technology Summit on Maoyi Island, according to a leaked invitation letter in Chinese microblogging site Weibo. So official details about the specs of the most anticipated flagship from Qualcomm which powers almost all next year’s flagships will be revealed in a few weeks.
Latest rumours claim that Snapdragon 845 might contain four Cortex-A75 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores optimized exclusively to provide 25% better performance than SD835. The chipset will be built either on 10nm LPE process or Samsung’s 10nm LPP process. Another futuristic feature of SD845 is the Qualcomm X20 LTE modem which supports 1.2 Gbps download speeds through carrier aggregation.
