Motorola Moto G6 Plus and G6 Specs, Features, Release Date and Price
Moto G6 Plus is the upcoming mid-range smart phone from Motorola. G6 is the variant of G6 Plus and will come with smaller Display. Moto G6 Plus is the Sixth iteration in the Moto G series and the successor of Moto G5 Plus. Motorola unveiled Moto G5 Plus and G5 mid rangers in February. Now we will round up some rumoured specs and features of the Moto G6 Plus. Moto G6 Plus will come with the metal uni-body design and feel like premium smartphone. The next mid-ranger from Motorola probably come with water resistance and dust resistance features too.
Display and Screen
Motorola launched Moto G5 Plus and G5 devices with 5.2 inch and 5 inch Display respectively. So the successor of G5 Plus may feature 5.4 inch or 5.5 inch IPS LCD display. G6 may sport 5.2 inch IPS LCD Display. Moto G6 Plus and G6 devices may feature 1080p screen resolution. Motorola may calibrate the Display of G6 Plus better compared to its predecessors. The Display probably also supports wide colour gamut. Brightness and contrast of the Display are also refined. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 may act as the Display protection for Moto G6 Plus. Because of Gorilla Glass 5, Moto G6 Plus display offers better strength than Moto G5 Plus and G4 Plus.
G6 Plus possibly arrive with a 14MP Rear camera with dual tone flash and f/1.5 aperture lens. 8MP Front Camera with front LED flash and f/1.7 aperture lens might be present. Moto G6 may come with 12 MP Rear camera with f/2.0 aperture lens, LED flash and 5MP front Camera. Rear Camera of the G6 Plus also supports AutoHDR, Manual exposure and 2K video recording features. According to some latest rumours, the Moto G6 Plus might be powered by Snapdragon 630 chipset, which is the best choice for mid-range devices.
Snapdragon 630 is a 64-bit Octa Core CPU built on 14nm process, according to Qualcomm. Snapdragon 630 chipset coming with Eight cores of Cortex A-53 clocked upto 2.2 Ghz. It also contains Adreno 508 GPU and X12 LTE Modem. It also has support for Bluetooth 5.0
As Snapdragon 630 is built on the 14 nm process, it offers great performance and low battery consumption compared to previous 600 tier chipsets which are built on 28nm process. X12 LTE Modem in the Snapdragon 630 SoC supports Cat. 12 download speeds upto 600 Mbps and Cat. 13 upload speeds upto 150 Mbps.
Qualcomm Spectra 160 ISP
Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC contains the 14-bit Spectra 160 ISP. The Spectra 160 ISP helps to capture with zero shatter log and also offers smooth zoom. The Image sensor of Snapdragon 630 supports fast autofocus too. So with Spectra 160 ISP, Moto G6 Plus users can capture pictures with true-to-life colors.
Motorola launched 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants of Moto G5 Plus with MicroSD support. So Moto G6 Plus may also come in 32GB and 64GB internal memory variants. Motorola may use UFS memory in the next mid-ranger to improve memory read and write speeds. The next Moto G contains a MicroSD slot and supports MicroSD upto 256 GB.
Moto G6 Plus may come with Non-removable 3300 mAh Li-Ion battery. It also supports Quick charge 3.0. 2900 mAh Li-Ion battery may power the Motorola G6 mid-ranger. Motorola will reveal full details about Moto G6 and G6 Plus batteries in coming days.
Quick Charge 3.0
Moto G6 Plus is coming with Quick Charge 3.0 support which reduces charges much faster. Quick charge 3.0 is about 40% faster than Quick Charge 1.0 and much power efficient than Quick Charge 2.0 and 1.0. The INOV (Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage) feature of Quick Charge 3.0 supports any voltage between 3.2 V and 20 V at 200 mV increments. So the next Moto G device will charge quickly and also efficiently.
Moto G6 Plus comes with the inbuilt Android O operating system. Android O is coming with many exciting features like new Notificition channels, Adaptive icons, Picture in Picture and so on. With the Notification channels feature, users can set customizable channels for Notifications. With the Notification dots feature of Android O, users can easily check notifications directly from the home screen. Adaptive icons of launcher appear differently in different OEM devices.
The Background Apps notification feature of Android O helps users to reduce the battery drain. Refined Background limits of Android 8 will also reduce the battery drain. So Android O also improves the battery life of Moto G6 Plus.
According to Qualcomm, Snapdragon 630 SoC is coming with Bluetooth 5.0 technology, which is a major improvement over the previous Bluetooth 4.2. So Moto G6 Plus will feature Bluetooth 5 support. Bluetooth 5.0 offers four times range and double speed over its predecessor. Some testers claim that Bluetooth 5.0 can work up to 800 ft range. Bluetooth 5.0 is also built to support for IoT (Internet of Things). The 5.0 version of Bluetooth is also designed to provide better Location services. Bluetooth 5.0 also uses lesser energy compared to its predecessor. The upcoming Android O operating system is coming with support for Bluetooth 5.0.
Motorola may launch Moto G6 Plus in March 2018. Pre-orders of G6 Plus probably begin in April or May. Official release dates of G6 Plus are yet to be revealed. In some regions like the U.S., the release of G6 Plus might be delayed.
Moto G6 Plus may come in two internal memory variants : 32GB and 64GB. In India, 32GB internal memory variant might come with a price tag of Rs. 12000/- and 64GB internal memory variant might come with a price tag of Rs. 14000/-.
